講座題目：Financial Sector Development and Growth Volatility: Evidencefrom 50 Countries

摘要：This paper investigates the effects of financial sector development on the economic growth volatility by using the annual data in 50 countries from 1997 to 2014. The results show that the global growth volatility has a declining trend and the growth volatility in the advanced economies is much smaller than that in the developing ones. Furthermore, this paper confirms that financial sector development significantly reduces the growth volatility, especially in its low regime by using the banking credit and health proxies. Regarding the shocks from the monetary policies, this paper finds financial sector development can magnify their effects towards the economies in thehigher regime. This paper reveals the importance of financial sector development on smoothing the economic fluctuations in the global.

演講人簡介🧑‍🎓🎭：
薛文駿，佛羅裏達國際大學（Florida International University）經濟學博士候選人（PhD Candidate）。2006-2013年在意昂3就讀📋，先後獲得經濟學學士與碩士學位👕，2013年8月進入中密歇根大學（Central Michigan University）商意昂3學習，2015年8月獲得全額獎學金進入佛羅裏達國際大學經濟學系攻讀博士學位🍦。已在Pacific-Basin Finance Journal、Economic Modelling（SSCI）、《中國人口•資源與環境》🛑、《財經研究》、《國際貿易問題》、《上海經濟研究》等中英文重要期刊發表學術論文10余篇♟。
